Position: Educational Assistant, full time
What you will do…
The Educational Assistant (EA) is a critical partner to the lead teacher, assisting in the implementation of Milwaukee College Prep’s curriculum and managing classroom culture. The Educational Assistant will receive daily instructions from the lead teacher; generally an EA will:
- Provide daily instruction with scholars one-on-one or in small groups
- Support whole group instruction by maintaining on-task behavior and monitoring understanding
- Build strong relationships with parents
- Check Life’s Work (homework) daily and communicate with teacher regarding any missing or incomplete work.
- Monitor scholars during lunch and recess
- Accompany scholars to Art, PE, Music and IT and assist lead teacher as necessary
- Substitute teach when lead teacher is absent
- Model the excellence we expect from our scholars
What you should have…
- 60 college credits
- Prior experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- A passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
- Absolute belief in every child’s ability to succeed and tenacity to ensure that success.
